Jeff joined New Horizons in 2000 and has over 25 years of experience within the IT field. His passion is making a difference in his students’ lives through education and training. In his mind, education is the gift that keeps on giving.
He attributes his success in the classroom to his years of competing in extemporaneous and impromptu speech in high school. His years of working in a university radio station honed his presentation style into what it is today.
Jeff uses real-world knowledge and theoretical concepts to educate and challenge his students. He stresses critical thinking and problem solving skills to his students. Resolving IT problems, after all, is a challenge of wits and finding solutions that may not be readily apparent at first glance. His training philosophy is that he "believes training that engages the individual will be more readily
retained and used. Adult learning should not be didactic, but rather take into account the individual’s input and life experiences.”
When not in the classroom, Jeff enjoys baseball and is a fan of rally racing. He even tried his hand at being a rally cross racer himself. He is a former Sunday school teacher and is an active Global Member of the Internet Society (ISOC).
