Instructor Highlight - James Nelson

James NelsonJames began his career at New Horizons in 1998, and is now one of New Horizons longest tenured trainers.
He attended his first computer programming course (BASIC Programming) in 1981, where he built business PC systems while working as a database and programming consultant.

During his tenure at New Horizons, James has traveled to various locations to train clients including military organizations and
large Fortune 500 companies. James enjoys the personal satisfaction of seeing the light bulb turn for students, being able to see a struggling student now understand complex solutions to everyday IT programs.

Teaching based on guidelines and best practices, James provides real-world examples that students will encounter.  His training philosophy is "Make the training informative, applicable, insightful and enjoyable."

Technical courses are taught hands on labs and real time examples students will face, rather than simply following a step-by-step guideline. James believes this allows students to take theoretical concepts and apply them to their own personal and professional lives.
