Are there non-CompTIA certifications I can use to earn CEUs?

Yes. Non-CompTIA IT Industry Certifications can also be used to satisfy the 3 year CEU requirement. For example, you may renew your Security+ Certification by earning 1 of the following from the CompTIA CEU list:

DoD Directive 8570 CompTIA Certification Holders

The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) requires every CompTIA-certified IA workforce member to obtain a CompTIA CE credential as part of DoD 8570.01-M. DoD personnel who take a CompTIA exam in 2011 or after are automatically enrolled in the CE program. Entry into the program can only be attained by passing one of these exams. NHDoD military training solutions can help you remain compliant.

There are ways to subsidize DoD IT training through the GSA Procurement process . You should check with your component point of contact or contact your NHDoD representative to determine whether your component will pay for your annual CE maintenance fee.
