New Horizons Sydney, Australia hosted the third winner from our 35th Anniversary Sweepstakes! Raya Zaharieva of Sofia, Bulgaria, traveled over 20 hours from the Land of Roses to The Harbor City for a 3-day ITIL Foundations course at our Sydney location.
The Project Management Profession is expected to grow by 33 percent through 2027. While it’s true that Project Managers are in demand more than ever, there remains a gap (worldwide) between employers need for skilled workers and the availability of these professionals to fill PM roles. The Project Management Institute (PMI) reported that organization’s “waste an average of $97 million dollars for every $1 billion invested, due to poor project performance.” Needless to say, that’s a lot of wasted resources and missed opportunities.
For those that don’t know, WMware vSphere is a cloud computing virtualization platform offered by (you guessed it…) VMware. Essentially, vSphere uses virtualization to transform individual data centers into aggregated computing infrastructures as a unified operating environment and provides you with the tools to administer the data centers that participate in that environment. In other words, vSphere allows you to run multiple virtual machines on a single piece of hardware and makes maintenance easier. From a business and/or IT department’s perspective, virtualization is attractive since it basically allows you to minimize investments in hardware. Pretty interesting right? We thought so too!
New Horizons Singapore hosted our second winner’s trip from our 35th Anniversary Sweepstakes. The January winner, Eric Dumas of Dublin, Ireland, traveled from The Emerald Isle to The Lion City for a 5-day Office 365 course at New Horizons' Singapore location. “I am one of the lucky winners of the New Horizons sweepstakes, celebrating 35 years of professional training worldwide; I feel even luckier that I chose to travel to Singapore to attend the training I selected,” said Dumas. “I received a very warm welcome from all the staff there, [and] the training was of the highest standards in a friendly atmosphere.”
Exceeding all expectations, the New Horizons Singapore team welcomed Eric with dinner at a local restaurant downtown, tasting the best in Singaporean food and even having him try the infamous durian fruit! Throughout the week, our team took Dumas to see parts of the amazing city they call home.“Traveling from Ireland for the first time in Asia, I could not have chosen a better place to go to,” Dumas stated. “I am very grateful to New Horizons for this fantastic opportunity and forever in debt to all the staff in Singapore.
