New Horizons Learning Group Named Best Place to Work in Orange County

New Horizons Learning Group was recently named as one of the 2017 Best Places to Work in Orange County. The awards program was created in 2009 and is a project of the Orange County Business Journal and Best Companies Group. This is the second time New Horizons Learning Group has been awarded this prestigious honor. Our continued success is proof that our company culture, our focus on People First has real world impact.

The awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Orange County, California, benefiting the county’s economy, its workforce and businesses. Similarly, we recognize our own employees for representing our company values: Gratitude, Respect, Accountability, Simplicity and People First. By recognizing our own employees first we promote an environment where our employees feel appreciated.

To be considered for participation, we had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have at least 15 employees working in Orange County
  • Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity
  • Be a publicly or privately held business
  • Have a facility in Orange County
  • Must be in business a minimum of 1 year

We then entered the two-part process to determine the Best Places to Work in Orange County. The first part consisted of evaluating each employer's workplace policies, practices, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation.

The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top organizations and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Orange County and also analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final ranking.

“We are proud to be recognized as one of Orange County’s Best Places to Work for the 2nd year,” says Kevin Landry, CEO; "Our ability to attract and retain top talent directly contributes to our consistent growth, profitability and industry-leading products and solutions. We are most proud that our employees’ experiences and feedback are at the core of this honor and recognition.”

“Winning the Best Places to Work shows that our employees are as excited about working with the company as the company is to work with them,” Laura Noid, Director of Human Resources for New Horizons Learning Group.
